2. Wine category (quality of wine) (here “Appellation Contrôlée”
AOC Chinon)
3. Bottle capacity (here 75 Cl)
4. Place where the wine has been bottled, and identity
5. Country of origin (here France)
Optional information
1 Bottled on the estate "Propriété", the "Château",
the cellar, in the area of production etc…
2 Commercial name
3 Generic name of the wine
4. Details on the processing of the wine: (here Owner - Wine grower and
not Trader or other.)
For Champagne
Required information for Champagne (essential information)
1 The name of the village where the wine was developed (here Epernay)
2 Country of origin (here France)
3. Bottle capacity (here 750ml)
4. Alcohol content. (between 10% and 13% flight.)
5.”Champagne” in large letters
6 The trade-mark of the producer or the house
7. The first name and the last name of the producer with the heading “Elaboré
par…”with the number of registration allotted by the CIVC.
This registration (here RM) gives another important information on the
origin :
CM: co-operative of handling, in light, wine coming from a co-operative.
MA: mark of purchaser.
ND: trader-distributor.
NM: trader-handling, pertaining to the Institute of the large Champagne
marks or to the institute of the wine merchants of champagne.
R: collecting, selling its grapes with a co-operative
RC: collecting handling co-operator
RM: collecting handling, champagne vinified and marketed by a vine grower,
with or without the assistance of a co-operative.
SR: company of collecting, meeting of vine growers.
8. Sugar content
DOUX : more than 50 grams
DEMI-SEC : between 33 and 50 grams
SEC : between 17 and 35 grams
BRUT : between 0 and 15 grams
The "noir" reference means that this Champagne is made from
a black grape variety, that is to say “pinot meunier” or “pinot
noir”.
